Yes, if your financial institution allows you to add your Interac Debit as a method of payment in your phone, you can pay for adult transit payments using your Interac Debit on your phone on select transit agencies.

What are Transit Open Payments?

Transit Open Payments or open payment fare systems provide the ability for transit riders to tap a payment card or a mobile wallet at fare readers without the need to use a transit fare card or transit app to pay for their adult fare. Interac is enabling the ability for a debit card or mobile wallet supported by Interac^® Debit to be used for this purpose.
Where can I use my debit card for Transit Open Payments?
The ability to pay for adult transit fares directly via Interac Debit is available by the following transit authorities:
Greater Toronto & Hamilton Area (GTHA) transit authorities, including Brampton Transit, Burlington Transit, Durham Region Transit, GO Transit, Hamilton Street Railway, MiWay in Mississauga, Oakville Transit, Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), UP Express, York Region Transit
