How to Add Your Debit Card to a Digital Wallet
Fast, convenient and secure, mobile payments are a popular way to make purchases both online and in-store. And in just a few quick steps, you can add your debit card to a digital wallet to make it even easier to pay on-the-go.

Before you begin, you’ll need:
- A Canadian bank account with a participating financial institution
- A debit card associated with your bank account
- A mobile device with a digital wallet
- An account with a mobile wallet service such as Apple Pay or Google Pay
Here’s what to do:

Open your digital wallet app.

Navigate to the button to add a card to your wallet.

If there are multiple options of which type of card to add to your wallet, select the option that includes a debit card.

Select the option to add a new debit card.

Fill out your card details as instructed.
You may be given the option to take a photo of your card or to manually input your card details.

Once you have confirmed the details of the card, press save to finish the process.
You may be asked to verify your payment card with your financial institution by email, text, phone, temporary deposit, or through your banking app. Select which option you prefer and follow the instructions.
