Each Direct Connector maintains a physical network connection to the IMN, which allows them to connect to each other through a private TCP\/IP telecommunications network.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Indirect Connectors<br>Participants who connect through a Direct Connector to the IMN<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"grid-container\"><div class=\"grid-x align-center\"><div class=\"small-12 medium-8\">\n<p class=\"center\"> Participants of Interac Corp. may act as:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"grid-container\"><div class=\"grid-x align-center\"><div class=\"small-12 medium-8\">\n<p class=\"center\"><strong>Issuers:<\/strong> These participants are financial institutions who maintain demand accounts and issue debit cards to their clients to access Interac services. At present, financial institutions, money market mutual funds and insurance companies are eligible to become issuers.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"grid-container\"><div class=\"grid-x align-center\"><div class=\"small-12 medium-8\">\n<p class=\"center\"><strong>Acquirers:<\/strong> These participants operate card-accepting devices, such as ABMs or <em>Interac<\/em> Debit (contact or contactless) terminals at the Point-of-Sale, which capture and transmit to the Issuer relevant data, needed to undertake a transaction<strong>.<\/strong> View our current <a href=\"https:\/\/stage.interac.ca\/en\/payments\/business\/find-an-acquirer\/\">Acquirer list<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"grid-container\"><div class=\"grid-x align-center\"><div class=\"small-12 medium-8\">\n<p class=\"center\"><strong>Connection service providers (CSPs):<\/strong> These participants are Direct Connectors who provide access for Indirect Connectors to the Inter-Member Network. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"grid-container\"><div class=\"grid-x align-center\"><div class=\"small-12 medium-8\">\n<p class=\"center\"><strong>Settlement agents:<\/strong> These participants settle the financial obligations of other members through the Canadian Payments Association&#8217;s Automated Clearing Settlement System. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"grid-container\"><div class=\"grid-x\">\n<div style=\"height:150px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Interac Network Participant Definitions Interac Corp. works with two types of network participants: Participants of Interac Corp. may act as: Issuers: These participants are financial institutions who maintain demand accounts and issue debit cards to their clients to access Interac services.
